FAKE BANK STATEMENT EMAILSWith every new month and every month end. Fraudsters send fake emails to unsuspecting people asking them to click and view their bank statements. These are phishing emails designed to trick the public to click on malicious code that will plant itself into computers and devices.
- DO NOT EVER OPEN THESE EMAILS OR CLICK ON CONTENTS AND LINKS. - DO NOT ENTER YOUR LOGIN DETAILS. DELETE!!! The email may look legitimate and like all phishing emails the senders email address is hidden behind the one that looks official. If you have not received your monthly banking statement: 1. Contact your bank 2. Use the online facility if you are registered for internet banking. (Make sure that the website is official and encrypted (https://)). Never use the link on the suspicious email. 3. Use the secure Banking App on your device to request transaction history.
