CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER Based at Head Office CE Office Total Guaranteed Package: R1,509,359 – R2,032,110 Minimum Qualifications: • Postgraduate Commercial Degree Preferred Educational level: • CA(SA) accredited or other relevant recognised professional accounting accreditation Minimum Experience: • Minimum of 10 years management experience, 5 years of which should be at a senior management level as a CFO • Minimum 5 years working application of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) • Comprehensive business experience in a finance environment • Water sector experience will be advantageous Key Outputs: Reporting to the Chief Executive, the appointee will: • Provide leadership, management and assume overall accountability for Amatola Water’s Finance Division; • Participate as part of the management team, providing input on financial matters pertaining to the strategic direction of Amatola Water • Ensure that AW has an effective funding and resourcing model to ensure financial sustainability • Report to management committee and the Board on the financial performance of the entity as per agreed reporting intervals • Monitor the appropriate implementation of the company’s procurement strategy (including BBBEE strategy) • Monitor adherence to internal controls and ensure that recommendations on weaknesses identified by internal/external auditors are implemented • Maintain sound relations and communications with internal and external stakeholders • Develop, maintain and ensure adherence to the financial and accounting policies and procedures for Amatola Water • Ensure that an applicable procurement policies and processes are implemented and adhered to across the organisation Other requirements needed: • Ability to think strategically • Analytical competence and ability to manage large sets of data for business decision making • Ability to understand the business drivers including the non-financial drivers influencing financial success • Ability to lead and manage people • Communication skills • Corporate governance • Valid and unendorsed driver’s license If you have not heard from us within 60 days after the closing date, you may regard your application as unsuccessful. Closing date: 01 February 2024 EXECUTIVE MANAGER: PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT Based at Head Office CE Office Total Guaranteed Package: R1,509,359 – R2,032,110 Minimum Qualifications: • Degree / B-Tech in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering • Registration: as Professional Engineer /Technologist or eligible for registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) Preferred Educational level: • MBA, MBL or equivalent Minimum Experience: • 10 years’ experience in infrastructure management of which 5 years at Senior/Executive Management level • 5 years’ experience in a water environment, including operations; water plant design/ upgrades or process control related to purification works, reticulation and quality assurance • 5 years’ experience in project management • Proficiency in Legislation governing the water sector • 5 years experience in the public sector Key Outputs: Reporting to the Chief Executive, the appointee will: • Provide leadership, overall management and assume accountability for Amatola’s Water Planning and Development Division • Provide leadership and oversight with respect to the development, implementation and review of the organisation’s Infrastructure Master Plan and feasibility studies to ensure long term sustainability and profitability • Provide leadership and oversight with respect to the development, implementation and review of the organisation’s environmental sustainability policies and plans including the climate change response strategy. • Provide leadership and oversight to planning undertaken for clients to satisfy client expectations and increase Amatola Water’s market share including business development • Provide leadership and oversight with respect to water demand management and conservation at Amatola Water to ensure water resources are used efficiently and effectively • Provide leadership and oversight to water resource management projects undertaken for clients to satisfy client expectations and increase Amatola Water’s market share • Provide leadership and oversight to Amatola Water’s scientific services to ensure work undertaken for clients is prompt and cost effective to satisfy client expectations and increase Amatola Water’s market share • Provide oversight on the management the laboratory to ensure professional service levels and SANAS ISO 17025 accreditation is maintained • Identify and implement institutional and social development support to facilitate the successful implementation of projects and other initiatives where communities will come into direct contact with Amatola Water • Compile comprehensive quarterly reports for Board and relevant Board Committee Other requirements needed: • Planning and Project Management experience • Relationship building and people management skills • Multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge (mechanical, electrical and civil) • Good communication and interpersonal relations skills • In depth knowledge of the OHS Act • Sound financial management skills • Good knowledge of working in a political environment • Computer literacy, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint • Valid unendorsed driver’s license • Good report writing skills • Working knowledge of the PFMA If you have not heard from us within 60 days after the closing date, you may regard your application as unsuccessful.
