Reporting to the Chief Executive, the appointee will, as part of the executive team: • Be accountable for efficient and cost effective bulk portable water production and distribution and bulk sewerage treatment and disposal, and associated infrastructure asset management and operations to ensure the achievement of service and quality standards. • Assist the Board of Amatola Water to realise its strategic objectives to ensure that the organisation is financially viable. • Keep abreast of developments related to institutional arrangements and technical practices. • Manage and coordinate the operational and capital budgeting processes throughout the operational stages. • Formulate and review policies, supply agreements and the general conditions of water supply. Key Performance Areas will include, but will not be limited to, the following: • Strategy development and implementation • Manage operations of the department • Oversee the implementation of operations management value added processes • Compile reports and action findings • Risk management and internal control • Departmental Management Other requirements: • Statistical Quality Control and Project Management experience • Leadership and people management skills • Multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge (mechanical, electrical and civil) • Good communication and interpersonal relations skills • In depth knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act • Sound financial management and problem solving skills • Good knowledge of working in a political environment • Computer literacy, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint • Valid unendorsed driver’s license If you have not heard from us within 60 days after the closing date, you may regard your application as unsuccessful.
