ALEXKOR CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's/ Masters degree in Engineering (Mining / Mechanical/ Civil/ Chemical); BSc /PM (Geology/ Metallurgy / Environment) or equivalent • MBA/ MBL qualification will serve as an added advantage • At least 10 years' experience in executive management level and in alluvial diamond mining environment and a state-owned entity would be preferable • The ability to lead and manage relationships inside and outside the Mine in conjunction with the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa; the Government Departments (Public Enterprise/ Mineral Resources and Energy/ Forestry, Fisheries and Environment/ Water and Sanitation) the board, the community, unions, environmental groups, regulators and legislators. • A strong communicator, with ability to lead, develop and maintain good relationships with the workforce, local and regional communities. DUTIES: As CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for strategically reading the mining operation, ensuring continuous transfer and dissemination of knowledge throughout the mine, as well as utilising innovative practices and technologies to continuously improve production. The role will also be responsible for: • Providing operational, technical and managerial leadership to a team of Managers on the Mine • Developing and implementing Mine strategies including setting production targets • Optimising profitability of the Mine in accordance with the vision and framework set by the Alexkor board of directors and the PS..IV Oversight Committee • Monitoring sound, financial, budget and cost management decisions • Setting and adhering to safety, health and environmental principles • Managing and developing people • Formulating & overseeing the execution of sound business practices, building implementation processes, policies, and practices that will maximise operational efficiencies & competitive advantage. CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER REQUIREMENTS: • CA (SA) and a BCom (Hons)/MCom Accounting with 15 years financial management experience of which 5 years must have been at managerial level, will be considered. • Ideally, the candidate will be a CA (SA) with 5 years commercial experience, preferably mining DUTIES: • The Chief Financial Officer will be directly accountable to the Accounting Officer. • Without limiting the right of the Accounting Officer to assign specific responsibilities, the general responsibility of the Chief Financial Officer will be to assist the Accounting Officer (Chief Executive Officer) in discharging the duties prescribed in the Public Finance and Management Act. These duties relate to the effective financial management of the institution including the exercise of sound budgeting and budgetary control practices; the operation of internal controls and the timely production of financial reports. • Compliance on governance issues in terms of King 4, IFRS, IAS, the Companies Act and all other applicable South African legislation. • Provide strategic financial input into the overall vision and mission of the company including the development of financial strategies and policies. • Manage forecasting and cost modelling processes effectively and efficiently according to the company Corporate Plan and international best practices. • Promote, manage and enforce transparency of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities of the company. • Maintain effective and efficient financial and risk management systems together with appropriate internal financial controls including hew business development. • Operational and capital budgeting are in line with the company strategic intent • Liaison with external and internal auditors. • Management of supply chain processes, payroll and insurance portfolios. • Compile monthly and annual reports to Management, the Board and its Committees on activities, projects and the financial status of the company. • Manage all taxation matters in regards CGT, VAT, Income Tax, PAYE, UIF, SDL and salary and normal company benefits which include medical aid We offer competitive salary and large company benefits which includes medical aid and pension fund.
