INGONYAMA TRUST BOARD
The Ingonyama Trust Board (ITB) is responsible for the land administration and governance of extensive rural and communal land which spans the entire province of Kwazulu-Natal. In undertaking such work, it works closely with various Traditional councils. ITB is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following vacancies which currently exist: Chief Financial Officer (Salary range- R927,262- R1,772,442 inclusive of benefits) Location: Pietermaritzburg, KZN (Ref: CF0#1) Key responsibilities: To provide financial management services to ITB by providing: • Strategic support to ITB through managing the delivery of financial and accounting services as well as supply chain management services. • This includes analysing financial information and ensuring its accuracy as well as the implementation of specific financial initiatives and strategy. |

Post requirements: A minimum of a postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. CA(SA) or equivalent certification would be an added advantage. Minimum of 10 years' financial management experience, of which at least 5 years should be at Senior Management level. Detailed knowledge of PMFA is essential. Sound knowledge of ITB financial regulations, experience in the preparation of public trust finances and budgeting as well as financial policy development. Knowledge of Traditional councils is advantageous.
Senior Legal Officer
(Salary range- R927,262- R1,772,442 inclusive of benefits)
Location: Pietermaritzburg, KZN (Ref: SLO#2)
Key responsibilities: To provide leadership in the legal services of ITB in terms of general legal support and advice on legal compliance as well as ensuring compliance with the Law and Legal prescripts. This includes:• Providing written legal resource and advice. • Drafting and Vetting of Legal Agreements • Providing advice on the organisation's legal compliance. • Developing and managing the register of all legal documents. • Leading and managing litigation as well as other legal matters. • Supervision of the Legal team.
Post requirements: A minimum of a B.Proc or LLB Degree. Admitted Attorney or Advocate with at least 8 years post-admission experience. A track record in legal practice. No adverse professional record. Knowledge of Zulu Customary Law is essential.
Manager: Business Development
(Salary range- R779,294- R1,192,335 inclusive of benefits)
Location: Pietermaritzburg, KZN (Ref: MBD#3)
Key responsibilities: To manage business development services by providing strategic support to ITB through managing the design, development and implementation of various business retention', expansion and outreach programmes consistent with the strategic plan. This includes, but is not limited to:• Liaising with relevant business sectors, stakeholders and beneficiaries about funding and the execution of projects. • Initiate developments related to mining, including community-controlled mining activities. • Interface with relevant authorities on conservation to ensure ITB land is managed appropriately and in accordance with the law. • Prepare reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.
Post requirements:A minimum of a postgraduate qualification in Business Administration and/or Economics, or equivalent. Minimum of 8 years' experience at a Senior Management level within an economic/business development context. Extensive knowledge of economic development principles, practices and implementation. Sound knowledge of long-range planning, development planning, housing, zoning, historic preservation and economic development is essential. Knowledge of research methods and statistical principles related to growth and development would be an added advantage.
Post requirements: A minimum of a postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. CA(SA) or equivalent certification would be an added advantage. Post requirements: A minimum of postgraduate qualification in Communications, Public Administration or related field. A formal qualification in public management or stakeholder/client relations management would be an added advantaged. Minimum 8 years Senior Management experience in stakeholder management and/or community development and/or liaison. Proven track record of delivering appropriate and timely stakeholder communications across multiple groups and influential stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:To manage Land planning and Tenure services. This includes: • Initiating and implementing land and tenure policies and processes. • Implement policy, strategy and support programmes that facilitate the release of strategic land and buildings for the purpose of sustainable development • Interface and maintain sound and transparent cooperation with Amakhosi, Traditional Councils and various stakeholders on land tenure matters in general.
Post requirements: A minimum of postgraduate qualification in Tenure/Land/Property Management/Land Valuation or equivalent. Minimum of 8 years' experience, 4 of which should be at a management level with particular focus on Land Tenure, Property Management, and Land Valuation. Sound knowledge of applicable indigenous customary law particularly that of land rights allocation and management. Knowledge of various forms of land tenure rights systems, tenure reforms in terms of current legislation in the Republic of South Africa, international instruments on land tenure and comparative best practices.
