The Health Professions Council of South Africa's vision is realised through protecting the public and guiding the professions. Legal Advisor (x2) (5-year fixed-term employment contract) (Paterson Grade: D3) Remuneration Package: R1 001 300 per annum (Total Cost to Council) Minimum requirements: • An LLB degree or an NQF Level 7 Law qualification • 7 years' proven court litigation experience • A thorough knowledge of the law, legal structures, administrative procedures and conduct of health practices and ethics • The ability to communicate at all levels and work under pressure • The ability to gather information and write reports • Advisory skills • Trial advocacy skills. |

Key performance areas:• Prepare and prosecute Professional Conduct cases • Conduct research and provide on-going legal advice to Council and its structures, as well as other stakeholders • Provide legally sound and binding resolutions to the professional boards, committees and external shareholders, including registered practitioners, which are in compliance with Health Professions Council of South Africa's (HPCSA's) legislative requirements and policy guidelines • Provide legal administrative support to Council's Committees • Attend Professional Board or Committee meetings as a Legal Advisor to give advice on matters which carry legal implications for such boards or committees • Draft and vet legal documents.
