POST 48/190: CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER / CHIEF DIRECTOR CORPORATE SERVICES
Directorate: Corporate Services
SALARY: R 1 068 654 (min) - R 1 277 610 (max) per annum, (All inclusive)
CENTRE: Sandton – Johannesburg
REQUIREMENTS: Post grade degree in accounting and Finance. a CA qualification will be and added advantage 7-10 years of experience in Senior Financial Management/Corporate Services. Knowledge of PFMA, PPPFA, Treasury Regulations and Generally recognized Accounting Practices - Knowledge of Accounting system and packages. Knowledge of Auditing and Accounting and Procurement Practices within the public sector, in particular Auditor-General requirement. Good working knowledge of the procurement practices with Government. Good working knowledge of ICT and HR (in order to guide and lead) Good working knowledge of accounting systems and practices. Detailed working knowledge of budgeting and financial management etc.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum Snr Manager experience of 8 to 10 in Finance and the Corporate Service Environment. PURPOSE: To oversee the implementation of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Director Corporate Services functions in GIFA in support of the GPG Mandate.
DUTIES: Ensure the compliance to relevant legislation, PFMA, Treasury Regulations, GRAP, PPPFA, PSR PSA. Provide strategic Leadership to all business units. Develop strategic and operational plans for business unit. Provide project Finance related advise to the CEO. Play an active role in MANCOM. Ensure compliance to risk Management. Manage and control budget of business unit. Ensure projects related reporting in respect of the project finance phase. Train and develop professional team in project development, investment appraisal, project finance and management, promote projects related information flow and acknowledge. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Other Skills & Abilities: Project management skills will be to the advantage of the candidate.
