PRIMARY DUTIES
- Develop and maintain a charter for the internal auditing function which reflects the organisation’s responsibilities, authority, and reporting relationships.
- Develop and obtain proper approval for goals, audit work schedules, staffing plans, and financial budgets for the department.
- Coordinate the organizational work with that of the organization’s external auditors
- Prepare a quarterly report of the department’s progress in carrying out the plans developed
- Perform individual audits according to the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing issued by The Institute of Internal Auditors.
- Maintains personal proficiency and that of staff auditors by ensuring adequate continued education and professional development
- Supervises staff auditors by assigning them to jobs which match their abilities, reviewing their work, and appraising their performance.
- Undertake special investigations at the directive of the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Committee;
- Formulate internal audit programs in order that all aspects of financial, assets and operational transactions are audited;
- Ensure that the prescribed procedures are diligently followed so that appraisal and monitoring can be reliable and effective;
- Prepare reports containing observations, comments and recommendations based on carried out work and findings;
- Perform quarterly follow-up on findings;
- Liaising with the external auditors in order that both external and internal audit functions could be carried out efficiently and effectively with minimum duplication of efforts;
- Participate in all extended management and/or EXCO meetings involving consideration of policy/procedures formulation and other allied matters relating to the overall operations of the organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant Degree
- Five years’ experience and five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory auditing position
- Technical proficiency in Internal Audit Standards;
- Experience in managing the internal auditing function;
- Professional Certification;
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)

REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant Degree
- Water Engineering Experience (5 years)
- Management experience at a senior level
- Project Management Experience (3 year)
- Membership to ECSA (Engineering Council of SA) would be an added advantage
- Ability to achieve teamwork, setting goals and achieving same

- Create and implement security standards, policies and procedures, including parking procedures.
