SOUTH AFRICAN COUNCIL FOR SOCIAL SERVICE PROFESSIONS (SACSSP) INTERNAL / EXTERNAL ADVERT REGISTRATION MANAGER (1 POSITION BASED IN PRETORIA) (REF: REG MAN/2023/02/14-P) R845 285.70 Total Cost to Company MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To manage high level and detailed outputs of the Registration division as per the SACSSP Annual Performance Plan (APP) by effectively managing staff, annual and quarterly planning activities, resources, and monitoring and evaluating divisional activities to the highest standard in accordance with the Social Service Professions Act 110, of 1978 as amended, and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree/BA Degree related to the regulated designations in the Social Service Profession’s field. A post graduate diploma in business administration will be an added advantage. A minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience as a social service professional of which three (3) years should be in performing managerial functions or supervisory role where the incumbent has proven involvement with Strategic Planning, Policy Development and Implementation, Staff and Stakeholder Relations and Management, Business Operations Planning and execution. The candidate should be registered as a Social Service Professional with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) in terms of the Social Service Professions Act 110 of 1978. A person must be found to be fit and proper, in terms of the Social Service Professions Act ,110 of 1978 and other relevant prescripts. No pending inquiries in terms of section 21 of the Social Service Professions Act, 110 of 1978. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Management of the registration process for all Social Service Professions. Operational management of registration division. Management of the registration helpdesk service. Ensure effective administration, including ethical record keeping, filing and storage systems for registration documents. Quality assurance of registration functions and processes, including monitoring and reporting. General management of divisional staff. Provide inputs into the Annual Performance Plan as it relates to Registrations. Develop and monitor implementation of the Annual Operational Plan & process maps/ workflow processes for the division. Contribute to the review and development of Registrations-related policies, procedures, and forms, while managing full adherence thereto by the registrations division’s staff and its external role players (Virtual Panel Members and Registered Persons: Assessors, Reviewers and Moderators). Develop quarterly reports on the progress towards the implementation and achievement of the registrations division’s objectives. Oversee and ensure the audit and effective management and handling of audit finding close-outs as relevant to the Registration division. Support the Registrar’s Regulatory Functions in generating the meeting documents for the Registrations Committee and attend and present items at the quarterly meetings as required. Prepare, manage and monitor the annual budget for the division in regard to functional/ operational and support costs. Manage customer complaints as related to Registration Policy, Standards, Procedures and Registration outcomes. Management, motivation, coaching, development and mentoring of staff. Performance management of staff & of external role players in the Registration Process (Virtual Panel Members: Assessors, Reviewers, Moderators, trainers, appeal experts, and Registered Persons participating in presentations/ panel discussions). Communicate and monitor clear work performance standards, goals, processes and procedures for both the registration division’s staff and the external role players in the process of registrations. Maintenance of valid registers for all social service professionals. DESIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of the SSP Act 110, of 1978 (as amended), its rules, regulations and relevant policies to Registration Knowledge of the Social service sector and operations of the council Advanced skills in statistical data analysis and presentation Advanced verbal, written and presentation skills; Advanced Microsoft office skills; General management skills: planning, organising, leading and control.
