Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirements • Knowledge of financial markets • Knowledge of IFRS, PFMA and treasury regulations • Knowledge of best practice frameworks such as King IV, COSO, among others • 5-8 years relevant experience, of which at least 3 years must be in a management role. • Experience in managing audits in the financial services industry and asset management companies Duties: • Contribute to the development of the overall Internal Audit strategy, develop goals and monitor achievement. • Developing an audit universe of all auditable Investment and Operations processes, a flexible risk-based 3-year rolling audit plan, and overseeing its execution to ensure timely completion of engagements. • Assess allegations received from various sources and ensure necessary approvals are obtained in line with the investigation protocol. • Prepare the investigation scope and terms of reference. • Coordination of investigations with the appointed forensic firms and support the implementation of the investigation reports. • Communicating the results of Audit Activities in a suitable format to all key stakeholders such as the Audit Committee, EXCO, other board Committees to facilitate understanding and remedying of internal control shortcomings. • Coordinating risk management (including fraud and conduct risks) efforts with all the other assurance providers to ensure optimal coverage of all key risks that affect the achievement of the PIC’s objectives and to minimise duplication of efforts where possible. • Assisting the Head of Internal Audit in developing and maintaining quality assurance and improvement to ensure audit activities are conducted in accordance with International Auditing Standards and reflect emerging industry trends. • Participating and providing relevant input at meetings of the divisional and company’s strategic committees meetings to build and maintain a strong understanding of the company’s core strategies. • Providing consulting / advisory services on various projects throughout the life of the projects, and performing ad-hoc engagements allocated by the Head of Internal Audit. • Upholding the PIC values, standards and policies • Management of the performance, development and engagement levels of the team Key Competencies: • Strategic thinking • Networking skills • Interpersonal relations • Negotiation skills • Presentation skills • Communication skills • Problem-solving skills • Performance management skills • Strong organizational and project management skills • Ability to build and maintain relationships with the team and business senior management • Ability to manage stress and pressure in a highly pressurized environment The PIC assets under management are nearly R2.6 trillion across listed and unlisted investments.
