CHIEF AUDIT EXECUTIVE: MB101 (Office of the Municipal Manager) (Salary scale T17: R679 558.56 – R882 132.24 per annum plus a motor vehicle allowance of R12333.50 per month as well as other normal fringe benefits) Qualifications & Experience: • Appropriate degree in Internal Auditing (NQF level 7) OR B. Com Accounting with internal auditing as a major. • Preference will be given to applicants with certification as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Professional Internal Auditor (PIA), or Internal Audit Technician (IAT). • Membership of the IIA professional body. • Compliance with the relevant minimum competence levels as prescribed. • At least 5-8 years Internal Auditing / Auditing experience of which at least 5 -8 years must be in a senior/supervisory position in the public sector covering all aspects of the internal audit function. Experience in the local government will be an advantage. Other requirements: • Excellent knowledge of the functions, legislation, procedures, and processes of local government. • Computer literacy • Proficiency in at least 2 of the official languages of the Western Cape. • Valid code B driver’s license. Skills required: Strategic leadership and management, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills ; High level of integrity, ethics and value and ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information ; Ability to give attention to detail ; High level of responsibility ; Ability to work under pressure ; Good analytical skills ; Broad knowledge of general financial administration, internal controls, risk management and performance management ; Good administrative and organizational skills ; Ability to do independent research ; Good report writing skills; Tactful, assertive and responsible ; Must maintain confidentiality ; Ability to handle conflict.
