Requirements: • NQF Level 7 qualification – Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma – in Communication, Public Relations, Public Administration, Sociology or another relevant field. • Must have had exposure to research methodologies. • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a research environment. • Valid Driver’s Licence (with no vehicle restrictions) Experience and competencies which will be advantageous: • Relevant NQF Level 8 qualification – Postgraduate Diploma or Honours Degree • Experience working in the public sector • Experience working in a regulatory environment Key performance areas: • Research and Data Analysis ➢ Collect and compile relevant data through desktop research and coordination with stakeholders ➢ Organise, analyse and prioritise information and research related to the liquor industry and alcohol harms reduction. ➢ Implement stakeholder perception surveys. • Content Development ➢ Develop content and package information for various purposes (reports, newsletters, communication and educational material) and stakeholders (internal and external). • Communication Support ➢ Assist in developing and implementing the Annual Communication Plan. ➢ Develop content for social media platforms related to research. ➢ Assist with editing of documents. ➢ Produce a monthly newsletter. ➢ Provide support to the Contact Centre (e.g., handling general queries, providing information about licensing processes). • Administration and Reporting ➢ Conduct administration and compile reports on research and communication activities Knowledge: • Sound knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis. • Knowledge of communication practices. • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, e.g. National Liquor Act, Western Cape Liquor Act, POPI, PAJA, PAIA, PFMA. • Knowledge of liquor regulation and alcohol harms reduction (advantageous). Skills: • Computer literacy with excellent proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint • Strong analytical and systematic problem-solving skills. • Ability to interpret research and apply information to relevant material/content • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, writing, reporting and presentation skills. • Graphic design skills (advantageous). • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and tight deadlines. • Ability to function independently and within a team. • Highly organised and proficient at planning to meet defined objectives. • Attention to detail and quality to ensure high standards and accuracy of work.
