Appointment to this position is 5 year- fixed term employment contract and subject to the signing of a performance agreement

Remuneration package: An All-Inclusive Annual Remuneration package from R972 648.00(minimum) fli1 108 275 (midpoint) / R1 275 894 (maximum) per annum (as per Upper Limit of Total Remuneration Package Payable to Municipal Managers and Managers directly accountable to the Municipal Manager, Government Gazette No. 43122 dated 20 March 2020) subject to the signing of an employment contract, a performance agreement and disclosure form for benefits and financial interests.
 
Requirements: An appropriate Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences/Public Administration/Law or equivalent * 5 years' experience at middle management. * Computer literate * Valid Driver's License * Registration with the South African Council of Social Service Professionals (SACSSP) or similar recognised relevant professional body will serve as an added advantage.
 
Knowledge: Good knowledge and understanding of relevant policy and legislation, good knowledge and understanding of institutional governance systems and Performance Management Understanding of Council Operations and delegation of powers.
 

 
Key Competencies: Must have capacity to provide strategic direction and leadership, People management, Programme and project management, Financial management, Change and governance leadership, Moral competence, Planning and organizing, Analysis and innovation, Knowledge and information management, Communication, Results and quality focus.
 
Key Performance Areas: * Responsible to manage the Fire and Rescue services, Disaster Management, Environmental Health services, Sport, Arts and Culture within the District. *Implement the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) as well as the strategic goals of the Department. * Provide support and advice the Municipal Manager and Council. * Implement the Departmental Service delivery budget Implementation Plan (SDBIP). *Develop and Implement key Strategic l Business Plan. *Perform duties and functions delegated to the Community Service by the Municipal Manager.
