Entering into performance of all duties and responsibilities contained in the annual SDBIP, Relative knowledge of the local government sphere and proven ability to communicate at all levels; Proven ability to provide strategic and innovative leadership. Computer literacy; A valid driver's license. Certification that the incumbent does not hold political office.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Accountable to the Municipal Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to lead, manage, control, organise, plan and execute the following functions within Ulundi Municipality's area of jurisdiction. Compliance with the NER standards and OHSACT of 1993. Control and co-ordination of Electrical, Civil and related activities. The approval and review of the recommendations of appointment of consultants/ contractors, all correspondence for external sources, prepare and amend tender instructions, preparation of monthly reports for submission to Executive and Finance Committee, Efficient and effective Electrical and Civil, taking responsibility for staff discipline, Budget control for the department of Technical Services, preparing monthly reports for submission to Executive and Finance Committee, on the performance of the department; functional tasks such as serving in Bid Committees, Sourcing line function funding and ensuring strict compliance with funding conditions and standards, Attending Council and Portfolio meetings, Stakeholders forums and meetings as and when directed by Council or the Municipal Manager, Responsible for all relevant technical liaison between the municipality and other organs and any other concomitant function or activity. NOTE: • Qualification and SA citizenship checks will be conducted on all short-listed candidates. Where applicable, successful candidate will be subjected to additional checks.
