The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is required to interact with the elected-members of government and the administration of the City of Tshwane and other organs of State, the Diplomatic core, the private sector and civil society to provide strategic advice and always position the Capital City as a leading investment and tourism destination. The incumbent will lead and manage the administration of the organization, ensure compliance to all legislation and regulations, enforce efficient control and processes and effective management of the entity’s resources and contracts, including its human capital and maintain the entity’s sound financial viability, as well as maintain the clean audit position the entity has attained. Also assume all responsibilities associated with being an Accounting Officer of a Municipal Entity. Competencies and Qualifications Master’s Degree in Business Management/Economics/Public Management or equivalent qualification. A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience at Executive /Senior Management level in medium-to-large organisations in the private or public sector of which four (4) years must be relevant/demonstrable experience in driving economic development, growth management and/or a track record in investment promotion, tourism and business retention. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of special economic zones, financial modelling and packaging business opportunities. Exposure to destination marketing and understand the tourism sectors is a necessity. Previous experience in the private and public sector and sound knowledge of MFMA/PFMA and experience in corporate governance is essential. A certificate of municipal minimum competency levels (MFMA), Computer Literacy and a Valid Driver’s license is a requirement. The incumbent should be able to demonstrate a willingness to take responsibility and make decisions within the defined authority framework. The incumbent will be equipped with high-level interpersonal communication skills, strong judgement and negotiation skills, excellent people management and strategic thinking skills.
