Position Purpose • To manage and coordinate all investigations into acts of syndicated theft, vandalism and sabotage committed against Transnet by internal and external parties in order to ensure the application of civil and criminal remedies. • To liaise and collaborate with Law Enforcement, Intelligence Agencies, and National Prosecutions in addressing syndicated crimes associated with Transnet’s critical/essential infrastructure. • To provide operational support and advise to the Transnet Investigations teams at Operating Division level. • To provide advice and recommendations to Group Security management in terms of the identification of weaknesses, gaps and business risks related to syndicated crimes mentioned above, as well as the effective mitigation of identified risks. • Design and implement internal systems and processes to ensure the effective management of investigations. • Establish and maintain a knowledge repository of security-related crime information. • Provide trend analysis reports associated with syndicate crime. Position Outputs • Develop investigation project plans to ensure that desired outputs are delivered in accordance with the agreed schedule. • Compile and communicate investigation project reports to ensure effective and meaningful reporting and risk mitigation. • Ensure that investigation projects are completed in line with specifications, on time, and within defined budgets. • Anticipate and pre-empt investigation project risks to minimise additional cost and ensure timeous completion thereof. • Develop and monitor investigation project-specific risk registers in collaboration with Group Security Integration Unit and Governance, Risk and Compliance. • Support and coordinate investigation projects to ensure sufficient resources and high levels of functional integration. • Support the Group Chief Security Office and security functions in the Operating Division to ensure effective investigation project planning by all, ensuring risk identification and appropriate mitigating plans and actions. • Support consequence management processes through the provision of sound evidence whether through reporting or verbal testimony in an efficient, consistent and transparent manner, including the identifying of operational improvement and the implementation of those improvements. • Facilitate training and workshops for personnel on how to perform investigations for the transferring of skills and knowledge to these employees. Qualifications and Experience • Degree and or post graduate Diploma (NQF Level 7) preferably in Security and/or Investigations/Criminology. • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a large organisation with a complex operations environment (experience in crime analysis) of which at least 5 years proven specialist experience in planning, coordinating and executing large scale syndicated crime investigations. • Requirement of trust and honesty in the handling of finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19. Position Purpose Provide technical services to the Terminal’s mobile fleet by maintaining, repairing and improving its functionality to ensure that they are safe, reliable and available to operations to eliminate operational downtime. Position Outputs 1. Conduct post operation mechanical inspections on all mobile fleet equipment to prevent fault re-occurrence during the next operation. 2. Examine, assess and conduct regular preventative maintenance on all mobile fleet equipment to ensure its reliability and maintenance a high level of availability. 3. Examine, evaluate and monitor equipment for deviations in norms and functionality whilst in operation to detect and identify early warning signs in order to rectify malfunction before a major breakdown. 4. Plan and prepare apprentices for on the job training in order to train and develop them according to their development plan, thereby ensuring skills are adequately transferred. 5. Respond, establish and repair fault for breakdown in the quickest possible time to minimise operation downtime in line with safety standards. 6. Assess and ascertain size of repair work and spares specifications required in order to inform and follow up with supervisor for ordering of parts to plan for repair in shortest timeframe thereby making equipment available for operations. 7. Isolate mobile fleet equipment when work is in progress in order to maintain a safe working environment. 8. In the absence of the supervisor, be able to make decisions as required on breakdowns or normal maintenance. 9. Keeping the condition of the equipment as good as possible to get the maximum lifespan out of the equipment. 10. Conduct rigging operation for the preparation of preventative maintenance and breakdowns. 11. Settle and repudiate claims against the terminals and develop standard terms which control liability. Manage the claims officers at all of the terminals.
