THE INNOVATION HUB MANAGER: MARKETING & CONFERENCE VENUE Permanent contract of employment with three months’ probation, Patterson Grade D3, Salary-R 613 721.00 Cost to Company The Innovation Hub Management Company (TIHMC), a subsidiary of the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency SOC Ltd (an initiative by the Gauteng Provincial Government for investing in strategic economic infrastructure and investment promotion so as to unlock economic growth in Gauteng). The Innovation Hub is the first Science and Technology Park in Southern Africa, established to spur the growth of smart industries in Gauteng so as to create a truly ‘smart’ province. It is now offering the following opportunity to a competent and dedicated person to join a dynamic team in Pretoria East. Reporting to the General Manager: Marketing and Communications, the purpose of this position is to lead the organisation’s efforts to promote The Innovation Hub and its programs, activities, exhibitions, and facilities to local, national, and international stakeholders, and to oversee all aspects of marketing, and advertising for the purpose of the organisation’s positioning, brand visibility, and customers’ growth in support of the organisation’s vision, mission and goals. Also responsible for the management, marketing and positioning of The Innovation Hub Conference Venue as a conference venue of choice for technology and knowledge driven enterprises (incl promotions and promotional materials, image and brand and building) and sales revenue generation including pricing.
• Define, and ensures adherence to marketing policies and standards • Implement systems for evaluating the effectiveness of marketing activities • Develop and maintain the organisational stakeholder database • Development of the Conference Venue strategy • Implementation of the Conference Venue strategy including the marketing plan • Provide overall support and management of the Conference Venue including • Sales targets • Pricing • Revenue generation • Conference Venue Operations • Marketing of the Conference Venue.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this exciting position, candidates need to be in possession of Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, coupled with at least 5 years relevant experience in management position. The successful candidate needs to have more than 5 years in developing advertising and marketing, sales strategies, ability to both lead and manage the marketing department staff and be an effective team player with The Innovation Hub’s other divisions; Demonstrate an ability to optimise and grow revenue sources; Track record in planning and conducting major marketing campaigns; Excellent, demonstrated written, oral, interpersonal, and communication skills (including editing ability), and must be able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders; Possess a good capacity for thinking strategically, as well as an ability to supervise and manage employees; An ability to work flexibly and collaboratively; Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high level of creativity and entrepreneurship.
