STELLENBOSCH LOCAL MUNICIPALITY MANAGER: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & TOURISM DEVELOPMENT PLANNING PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PD/DEP/ED/PP/04 The successful incumbent will report to the Senior Manager: Development Planning.
Responsibilities ● Manage, lead, oversee and coordinate the operations of the Economic Development & Tourism Section, which consist of the following disciplines: Business Development & Tourism; Economic Research & Business; Agricultural Support & Rural Development; Expanded Public Works & Small Medium Micro Enterprises; and Informal Trading, Economic Hubs, Markets & Liquor in terms of the applicable legislation and Council Policies ● Oversee staff, coordinate work activities and office resources ● Ensure knowledge and skills transfer ● Initiate the development of strategies, policies, and guidelines ● Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP’s”) in relation to the Section ● Manage, coordinate and control the implementation of short, medium and long term plans and objectives of the Section in accordance with the Municipality’s policies and strategies associated with Economic Development & Tourism ● Manages, coordinates and controls the key performance outcomes indicators and outcomes of personnel within the Section ● Provision of inputs into capital and operating budgets, and controls expenditure against the approved budget of the Section ● Implementation, management and overseeing of procedures, systems and controls to enhance productivity and specific work sequence associated with Economic Development & Tourism.
