• Experience in Local Government • Experience in electricity and/or energy efficiency/renewable energy in South Africa, preferably in Local • Government analysis and monitoring and evaluation • Experience in engaging with senior counterparts in policy forums, IGR structures, sector meetings, etc. • Experience in public policy analysis and drafting energy proposals, submissions and policies • A valid Code 08 driver's licence and own vehicle. CORE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOUR: • An understanding of Government's legislative process • Excellent stakeholder relations • Good communication skills • Analytical skills • Knowledge of relevant legislation • Understanding of the Local Government environment • Strong planning and organising skills • Results-driven • Computer literate Programme Manager: Gender Equality and Women's Commission Based in National Office (Pretoria) Directorate: Community Development Remuneration package: A competitive salary package with benefits (Ref. 190202) ROLE OVERVIEW The incumbent will work with the Specialist to guide, capacitate and support SALGA Provincial Offices and municipalities with the implementation of Gender Equality Women's Commission programmes. The Programme Manager will also guide content development as required on Gender Equality and Women's Commission issues. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: • Administration and programme support • Research • Policy analysis and formulation • Stakeholder engagement and management • Advocacy and lobbying • Strategic and business planning • Budget planning and management • Reporting • Knowledge management • Monitoring and evaluation. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: • A Bachelor's degree in Social Science Studies or Development Studies of related field with minimum of 6 years' experience • Knowledge and understanding of social development issues • Knowledge and understanding of Government in particular Local Government • Experience in public policy analysis and drafting • A valid Code 08 driver's licence and own vehicle • Frequent travel required.
