SEDA CONSTRUCTION INCUBATOR (SCI) Established in 2006, National Construction Incubator (NCI) is a public benefit organisation mandated to develop and mentor emerging construction companies in South Africa. The core business of NCI is to develop emerging contractors through the infusion of both technical and business administration skills that are aligned with introduction of technology in order to enhance the efficiency and efficient management of their businesses. • Establishing and managing stakeholder networks and relations. • Ensuring effective overall business management of National Construction Incubator by establishing operational processes and leading process improvements • Championing the NCI culture and values through empowered leadership and building and maintaining an effective operations team • Ensuring performance goals are met and set through the successful implementation and management of Performance Management System for all staff • Fundraising for the National Construction Incubator and managing finances of the institutions • Serving on various internal and external committees.
Competencies required: Excellent verbal and written command of English, advanced knowledge of MS Office, excellent internal relationships, knowledge of IT and Legal issues will be an advantage, good knowledge of labour legislation, corporate governance, ethics and values in operations management. As well as proven track record of managing complex businesses and budgets successfully. Head: Support Services - Head Office (Durban) Reference Number: HSS/10/01 FIVE YEAR FIXED TERM PERFORMANCE BASED CONTRACT, MARKET RELATED SALARY Requirements: Honours Degree in Management Sciences/Industrial or Organizational Psychology/ Law / Construction or other humanities. Eight to ten years in managerial domain. Excellent verbal and written command of English language, advanced knowledge of MS Office, knowledge in Labour Law and Financial Management ability to work independently and take initiative, extensive experience Business development, stakeholder and public relations management. A strong construction background will be advantageous. Key performance areas: The main responsibilities for this position includes: • Drafting NCI business plans in line with organizational strategic objectives. • Ensuring effective and efficient overall management of National Construction Incubator by developing a comprehensive Financial Management system, Human Resource and People Development, Technical and mentorship support strategies. • Providing guidance on Procurement, equipment and facilities management in line with PFMA. • Developing an Information and Knowledge management system. • Developing and maintaining Stakeholder and Public Relations image. • Spearheading strategies to steer the company's future in a positive direction. • Driving the company's operating capabilities to surpass customer satisfaction and retention, and company goals. • Overseeing the effective functioning of the Directorate on a day-to-day basis • Managing administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the organization • Assessing and implementing improved processes and new technologies, and collaborating with management regarding the implementation of these improvements • Fundraising for the National Construction Incubator and managing finances of the institutions. Competencies required: Problem solving and decision making skills, relationship building, teamwork, people management, planning, organising and control skills. Good knowledge of Labour legislation, corporate governance, work ethics and values in operations management. As well as competency I managing complex enterprise's human resources, finances, operations and strategies and the ability to make business projections three years into the future. Human Resources Manager - Head Office (Durban) Reference Number: HRM/10/01 FIVE YEAR FIXED TERM PERFORMANCE BASED CONTRACT, MARKET RELATED SALARY Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management or Industrial/Organizational Psychology or other humanities. Five to ten years in Human Resources or three to five managerial experience in Human Resources. Excellent verbal and written command of the English language, intermediate knowledge of MS Office, advanced knowledge in HR related software programmes, skills development, performance management, Labour Legislation, experience in people management, experience in all Human Resources functions, extensive experience in policy development and a valid driver's licence. Key performance areas: • Drafting HR business plan in line with NCI strategic direction. • Effective management of the recruitment and selection process. • Developing job descriptions as well as KPA's and KPI's for each position as they are needed to ensure business achieves its strategic objectives • Developing HR policies and monitoring full implementation and compliance. • Facilitating and coordinating all HR disciplines/functions including counselling, grievances and disciplinary hearings etc. • Representing NCI in all disciplinary and CCMA hearings. • Managing the performance management process and assisting managers to plan and implement regular performance feedback and discussion • Identifying and implementing suitable remuneration reward system. • Initiating and implementing an effective Induction and exit process. • Monitoring transformation and BBBEE legislative changes and updates and ensuring targets are met • Co-ordinating the execution of transformation strategy and communication for all related projects Reporting. • Ensuring compliance with the Skills development Act, Employment Equity Act and Health & Safety Act, and all other FIR Acts and legislation. • Collating, co-ordinating and submitting the monthly HR reports or any other relevant report as required by the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee and the CEO • Identify and implement training plans in line with operation's needs, legislative requirements and the organisation's Skills Development Plan Competencies required: Good verbal and written communication skills, decision making skills, relationship building, teamwork, problem solving, people management, planning, organising and control skills Location: Head Office – Durban CLOSING DATE: Monday, 11 November 2019 Contact details: Please send all applications and or queries to: hr@seci.org.za
