NATIONAL REGULATOR FOR COMPULSORY SPECIFICATIONS (NRCS) The National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) was established on 1 September 2008 in accordance with the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications Act. It is an agency of the dti, established to administer compulsory specifications and other technical regulations with the view to protect human health and safety, the environment and to ensure fair trade, in accordance with Government policies and guidelines. It is the NRCS intention to promote equity through the filling of posts, according to set Employment Equity targets. Qualifications/ Experience:
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the legislation and regulations related to the accountable field; In-depth of Technical Regulations relating to the accountable field; In-depth knowledge of the NRCS act; In-depth knowledge of regional and international treaties, trade protocols and mutual acceptance arrangements; In-depth knowledge of quality management systems; In-depth knowledge of corporate governance policies and procedures; In-depth knowledge of business strategy, planning and reporting processes; Working knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA); Very good knowledge of financial management and budgeting; Very good management skills and knowledge; Working knowledge of risk management Behavioural attributes: Planning and organisation skills; Excellent communication skills; Leadership skills; Highly analytical; Inquisitive; Strategic orientation; Ability to exert influence; Excellent report writing skills; Presentation skills; Negotiation skills; Sound judgement NB:
