NATIONAL REGULATOR FOR COMPULSORY SPECIFICATIONS (NRCS) The National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) was established on 1 September 2008 in accordance with the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications Act. It is an agency of the dti, established to administer compulsory specifications and other technical regulations with the view to protect human health and safety, the environment and to ensure fair trade, in accordance with Government policies and guidelines. It is the NRCS intention to promote equity through the filling of posts, according to set Employment Equity targets. Qualifications/ Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge of the NRCS Act; Sound knowledge of the Legal Metrology act; Sound knowledge of the legislation and regulations related to area of speciality which may include but is not limited to the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, Customs Excise Act, Police Act, PFMA, PAJA, SANS, ISO, Consumer Protection Act, Trade Metrology Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, National Road Traffic Act, Sound knowledge of risk assessments; Knowledge of Quality Management systems; Knowledge of inspection methods and processes; Knowledge of evaluation methods and processes Behavioural attributes: Report writing skills; Ability to use judgement; Problem solving; Planning and Organising; Action orientated; Deadline driven; Excellent communication skills – written and verbal NB:
