NATIONAL MUSEUM BLOEMFONTEIN VACANCY HEAD OF DEPARTMENT: ARCHAEOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY NATIONAL MUSEUM, BLOEMFONTEIN Applications are invited for the position of Head: Department of Archaeology and Anthropology at the National Museum in Bloemfontein.
Key Performance Areas: • Carry out internationally competitive research with a strong emphasis on Stone Age/ Iron Age archaeology and publish results in peer- reviewed journals and provide expert services to researchers and research institutions. • Oversee management, accessioning and expansion of the Archaeological and Anthropology collections and effectively manage the departmental databases and laboratory. • Supply scientific expertise for exhibits. • Popularisation of the field of expertise through popular articles, lectures and talks. • Efficiently administer the Archaeology and Anthropology Department.
