NATIONAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT OFFICE (NIPMO) NOMINATION OF POTENTIAL CANDIDATES TO THE NATIONAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT OFFICE (NIPMO)
The Advisory Board will consist of no fewer than five, but not more than nine members including the Chairperson appointed by the Minister and the Head of NIPMO will be an ex-officio member. The members will be appointed in their personal capacities and serve on a part-time basis for a period not exceeding four years and will be eligible for reappointment for one further term. Allowances will be in accordance with the National Treasury guidelines for remuneration. The Advisory Board will be responsible for advising NIPMO on the performance of its functions, the exercise of its powers and the execution of its duties. The members of the Advisory Board, including the Chairperson, shall all be persons who are citizens of the Republic or have the right of permanent residence in the Republic, and have achieved distinction in the fields of research management, higher education environment, intellectual property protections and management, technology transfer and business, technology licensing and commercialisation or who have special knowledge or experience in relation to some aspects of the functions of NIPMO. Nominations should be submitted to the Minister of Higher Education Science and Innovation no later than 31 May 2021 Relevant curricula vitae for nominated candidates, including the following information, should be provided: Identity number; gender; race; designation and responsibilities; contact details (postal and email addresses, and telephone and fax numbers); qualifications and field; current and past service on boards; areas of expertise; names and contact details of two referees. Confirmation of the availability of the nominee is also required.
