Key Performance Areas: • The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and management of the Office of the Speaker • Provide leadership by ensuring that there is effective and efficient administrative support rendered to the Speakership. Provide strategic leadership and management by ensuring that the Office of the Speaker is effective and efficient in liaison, communication and engagement with stakeholders • Ensure that there is effective and efficient administrative support rendered to the Speaker in executing the Treasury function, • Ensure that the Speakership is well supported administratively to execute the political role • Provide administrative support and ensure that the Speakership is able to provide strategic leadership in the functioning of committees of the Legislature • Maintain strategic relations with the NCOP, Presiding Officers of Parliament, other Provincial Legislatures, Speakers of the Provincial Legislature, Speaker of District and Local Municipalities, and other Inter-Parliamentary bodies • Develop and implement an effective and efficient programme of the Provincial Speakers Forum • Develop and implement an effective and efficient legacy program for the Office • Ensure that there is sound, efficient and effective financial management system • Ensure that there is an effective and efficient people and asset management system in the Office of the Speaker • Develop and implement a capacity development and performance management program of staff in the Office of the Speaker • Provide liaison services for members capacity development with corporate services division • Act as an administrative interface between the Political Office and the Legislature administration • Ensure continuous improvement, innovation and good practice in Office of the Speaker.

Requirements: LLB Degree coupled with admission as an attorney or advocate • Three years' experience practicing as an attorney or advocate or Legal Advisor for a public or private institution • Experience within the Legislative sector would be an added advantage.
Key performance Areas: • Provide Legal Services to the Legislature by performing the following duties: • Providing Legal advice, drafting legal instructions such as Legislation and contracts and advising on litigation • Draft legislation with respect to the Legislature matters. Conduct legal and procedural research • Draft contracts and service level agreements on behalf of the Legislature • Advise on all contractual matters • Provide legal opinions on matters related to the Legislature's contracts • Periodically review standard service level agreements and contracts • Serve on committees and task teams • Provide assistance with negotiating contracts • Consult with relevant stakeholders • Analyse court precedents and written articles /publications • Facilitate obtainment of legal opinions • Sit in designated committees where opinions on matters of a legalistic nature are discussed • Liaise with State Attorneys.

Key performance Areas: • Compile annual institutional demand/procurement plan • Coordinate and take responsibility for effective functioning of the bid specifications committee and keep all the related records and documentation • Maintain an up-to-date suppliers' database • Establish systems and structures for full compliance with and reporting in line with GRAP 12 inventories • Ensure the integrity of the logistical management systems and processes whilst maintaining financial and management controls.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing error-free Hansard verbatim reports of the House and sectoral parliaments, translating Hansard and non-Hansard scripts and providing interpreting services during Legislature sittings and sectoral pediments.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or a three-year diploma in languages/linguistics or equivalent qualification and three years of relevant experience • Ability to listen and type at a high speed • Computer literacy, particular in MS Word • Good verbal and written skills in the official languages • Ability to speak the official language of the province • willingness to work long hours • ability to work independently, in a team and under pressure during the execution of the duties of the post and the willingness to travel • Sign Language will be an added advantage.
