MPUMALANGA ECONOMIC GROWTH AGENCY (MEGA) Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA) is an Agency established in terms of Act no. 1 of 2010. The Agency is mandated to promote Trade and Investment, provide funding in respect of approved Enterprise and Agricultural development, focusing primarily on the previously disadvantaged individuals in Mpumalanga, develop Property including granting of Housing Loans and deliver massive infrastructure within the province.
• Designing the organizational structure which support the functions and aligned to the MEGA strategy; • Engage, grow and maintain significant stakeholder relationships and enhance the organization’s stability and reputation; • Driving the development impact of MEGA; • Management of Enterprise-Wide Risk and Governance requirements; • Executive and Board functions - Meeting regularly with the Chair of the Board and other directors to ensure that responsibilities are fully complied with. Provide direction and management to the direct reports to ensure they execute the divisional strategy and manage their divisions effectively.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • A Postgraduate Degree in Business Administration and Management/Finance/Economics or equivalent qualification; • A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage; • 12 - 15 years' experience in the field, 5 years of which must have been in a Corporate or Development Finance Institution as an Accounting Officer; • The candidate must have a broad understanding of the PFMA, Companies Act, National Credit Regulation Act and other related relevant legislations; • Proven strategic visionary and business judgement with strong communication, implementation and management skills; • Ability to analyse local, organisational, national and international trends within and external to developmental finance sector. CRITICAL COMPETENCIES • Extensive experience in development finance and an appreciation of the role of MEGA. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the PFMA and National Treasury Regulations, and other related legislation; • In-depth knowledge and understanding of risk management; • In-depth knowledge and understanding of corporate governance for public entities; • Business Acumen – Predicts future sources of profitability; • Performance enabler; • Integrity and ethical behaviour. EXPECTATIONS The successful candidate will enter into a Service Level Agreement (Employment and Performance Contract) for 5 years. He/she will further be subjected to vetting and screening.
