MEDIA DEVELOPMENT AND DIVERSITY AGENCY (MDDA) 1 x Position: Audit & Risk Committee Chairperson 2 x Positions: Audit & Risk Committee Members The Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) is a statutory development agency for promoting and ensuring media development and diversity, set up as a partnership between the South African Government and major print and broadcasting companies to assist in (amongst others) developing community and small commercial media in South Africa, in terms of the MDDA Act. The following positions are based in Parktown, Johannesburg.
Audit & Risk Committee Members Term: 2 Years SALARY SCALE: Compensation will be in accordance with rates as determined by National Treasury. QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a three-year Tertiary Qualification (NQF 7) and a Post- Graduate Degree/Diploma in Auditing/Accounting will be an added advantage EXPERIENCE: 5 to 10 years’ experience in Auditing/Accounting or relevant work experience at a senior/executive management level. Previous experience of serving in the Audit Committee will be advantageous. REQUIREMENTS: The preferred candidate must be an independent person, with advanced knowledge and experience in Corporate Governance and Financial Management • Exposure to the Grant Funding Sectors and familiarity with Risk Management Practices • Knowledge and understanding of internal controls, major accounting and public sector reporting issues • Knowledge and understanding of and exposure to Legislation/Policies (PFMA/GRAP/ GAAP/National Treasury Regulations and practices notes relevant to the agency) • Knowledge and understanding of the roles of Internal and External Audit • Broad knowledge of auditing, finance, governance, ethics, performance management, operations, information technology, relevant financial reporting and legislative frameworks. Excellent Communication Skills (verbal and written). Applicants should have business acumen, be hard working and thrive in a challenging environment.
