MATTHEW GONIWE SCHOOL OF LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE BACKGROUND Matthew Goniwe School of Leadership and Governance (MGSLG) is a Section 21 organisation located in Vrededorp, Johannesburg. MGSLG is an entity of the Gauteng Department of Education and was established to research, develop, implement and evaluate cutting edge capacity building programmes in the areas of school governance, leadership, management and teacher development to empower school governors, principals, deputy principals, HoDs and educators for schools in the Gauteng Province. • Lead the branches as per the strategy of the institution • Ensure financial management of the branches are in line with the budgetary planning strategies • Monitor and evaluate the promotion of innovation and leading edge programmes • Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction and report of the strategic impact. Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes: • Masters Degree in Education, Business Administration, and/or related Human or Project Management Degrees. • PhD will be advantageous. • A minimum of eight years experience in Education, Training Delivery, Training Analysis, Programme Development, Operations, Finance, Business Development, Strategic Planning, Research, Innovation and Risk Management • Experience in managerial, operational and strategic planning. • Strong analytical, managerial and leadership skills • In-depth understanding of the education, training and development practices • Understanding of research methodologies • Ability to budget and manage expenditure • Effective communication, leadership and management skills • Good computer skills and other relevant research and planning software skills (MS Word & Excel) required • Possession of a valid driver's license. 2 X DIRECTOR: LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE JOB REFERENCE NUMBER: DAV 02/2019 DURATION: 5 YEAR FIXED TERM JOB GRADE: D4 REPORTS TO: BRANCH HEAD: SCHOOL LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE Job Summary: Ensure the efficient, effective and strategic engagement with various stakeholders and the delivery of relevant training programmes of high standards to all interested parties Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities: • Responsible for strategic planning of the directorate • Ensure management and development of staff • Plans, implements and monitors programmes • Responsible for reporting as per institutional requirements • Manage stakeholder relations • Able to design and deliver both accredited programmes such as qualifications and non-accredited programmes • Contributes to the budget management of the department • Develops and oversees the development of training materials and support programmes • Utilises research outputs to effect programmatic improvements and development • Oversees implementation of new programmes • Oversees needs analysis process to determine instructional problem to be solved • Designs appropriate solutions and learning programmes including blended learning programmes.
