MATTHEW GONIWE SCHOOL OF LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE BACKGROUND Matthew Goniwe School of Leadership and Governance (MGSLG) Is a Section 21 organisation located in Vrededorp, Johannesburg. MGSLG is an entity of the Gauteng Department of Education and was established to research, develop, implement and evaluate cutting edge capacity building programmes in the areas of school governance, leadership, management and teacher development to empower school governors, principals, deputy principals, HoDs and educators for schools in the Gauteng Province. The following post is advertised as a priority to fulfil the mandate of the delivery of quality education in Gauteng schools
• Design appropriate solutions and learning programmes • Contribute to the budget management of the department • Develop and oversee the development of training materials and support programmes • Utilise research outputs to effect programmatic improvements and development • Implement or provide any other programme or service as may be delegated • Oversee implementation of new programmes • Monitor and evaluate learning programmes.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes: Honours Degree in education, training, learning and development, or other related areas. Master’s Degree in Education, Training, Learning and Development, or other related areas will be advantageous. • At least 10 years post qualification experience within the education sector • Experience in managerial, operational and strategic planning. • Strong analytical, managerial and leadership skills • In-depth understanding of the education, training and development practices • Understanding of research methodologies • Effective communication, leadership and management skills Good computer skills and other relevant research and planning software skills (MS Word & Excel) required • Possession of a valid driver's license.
