Key Responsibilities: • Co-ordinates and execute operational plans and procedures associated with controlling performance productivity and discipline • Lead and control specific task associated with the operation of heavy specialized vehicles and equipment during electrical installation repair maintenance activities. • Lead and control activities associated with the construction and installation of medium /low voltage electrical networks • Lead and control activities and sequences associated with maintaining the functionality of medium / low voltage electrical reticulation systems • Lead and control activities / sequences associated with trouble shooting / fault finding and repairing to low voltage reticulation • procedures and, monitoring and reporting on sequences/ outcomes. • Performs specific administrative tasks/ activities associated with the updating and maintaining records/ information related to the activities/ Operations at the Depot • Perform any other relevant duty as may be assigned by competent authority. Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be required to coordinate all Matatiele Local Municipality’s capital projects which, inter alia include but not limited to : • Render technical support for and evaluate proposed projects in alignment with the respective Municipality’s IDP • Facilitate regular project process meetings with service providers •Control and monitor the compliance of all legal aspects and conditions as required from the different spheres of government • Conduct sites visits/ meetings to ensure compliance with the business plan conditions as per MIG guidelines • Verify payment certificates and prepare monthly payments schedule documents for MIG funded projects • Monitor and Evaluate projects • Assist with other related Municipal Infrastructural Programmes • Liaise with other spheres of Government, Municipalities, Councillors and the Public • Perform any other relevant duty as may be assigned by competent authority. DEPARTMENT: COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT Unit: Environment and Waste Management Position: Manager - Environment and Waste Management REF No: MLM/COM/WMGT/007 Employment Term: 5-Year Fixed Term Contract Task Grade: 16 Basic salary: R993 143, 97 P.A. Advertisement Platforms: Provincial News Paper, Local News Paper, Municipal Website and Municipal Notice Boards Minimum Requirements: •Matric, A recognized B-Degree (NQF 7) in Environmental Management/ Natural Science/ Nature Conservation or equivalent qualification • Certificate Programme in Municipal Development / CPMD • Minimum of 5-year working experience in Waste management, Environmental management, Parks and Cemetery management and of which 3 years must be at supervisory level in the Local Government Sector or any other sphere of government or institution • Profound knowledge of Municipal Legislations • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Good communication skills • Ability to produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports within the stipulated time frames • A valid Code B driving license. Key Responsibilities: • Manage staff , Facilitate the provision of regular waste removal services to Matatiele communities • Design collection and disposal routes • Manage own funded projects and MIG funded projects relating to community and social services • Draft and review and prioritise budget • Facilitate the Environmental and Conservation Assessment (EIAs) for all Municipal Projects • Provide an effective and efficient Environmental and Conservation Services for Matatiele Communities • Provide and Maintain Parks and open spaces so as to create pleasant environment for Matatiele Communities • Ensure that commonages are managed within Matatiele Local Municipality • Facilitate the process of burials, pauper burials and exhumations in order to ensure compliance with the Health Act • Provide Landfill Site Management Services • Perform any other duty as may be assigned by competent authority.
