POST: 1 X DIRECTOR DIRECTORATE: ENGINEERING & INFRASTRUCTURAL SERVICES SALARY: Minimum R932 548 per annum — Mid-point — R1 078 089 per annum and Maximum R1 223 632 per annum (This is in line with the upper limit of the annual total Remuneration packages of Managers directly accountable to Municipal Managers)
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: The incumbent will be responsible for all the engineering works. Which includes amongst others: • Development of the Water Services Development Plan [WSDPI (water and sanitation) for the area of Makhanda (Grahamstown), Riebeek East and Alicedale and the surrounding farming areas. • Shall be responsible for the Operations and Maintenance (0 & M) in the whole of Makana Local Municipality • Shall be responsible for the effective and efficient infrastructure asset management of Makana. • Responsible for the provision of quality water and sanitation for the whole of the citizenry of Makana in line with the quality standards. • Management the Unit on electricity planning, management and provision. • Manage the Building, Roads and Storm water Unit focusing on planning, operations and maintenance. • Manage the Housing Unit in line with the functions of the Local Municipality. • Administer the Human Capital, Finance (Budget), and buildings of the Municipality. • Report to the Municipal Manger in line with the Service Delivery Implementation Plan (SDBIP) and related planning documents. • Develop and ensure the implementation of strategic business plans for the ITS Department to ensure professional and sound business planning of the Department in alignment with the IDP requirements and Council's strategic objectives/priorities and requirements.
