• Perform audit assignments conducting planning, fieldwork and reporting activities ensuring adherence to Magalies Water Internal Audit methodology • Assist in the management of stakeholder relationships. • Supervisory role to ensure quality of work performed by Internal Auditors. • Coach internal auditors to enhance their competence and professional development. Exemplifies and monitors due professional care of the internal audit team. • Assist the CAE in the coordination of all Internal Audit activities • Monitor internal auditor performance and workload and provide constructive and timely feedback to help the department achieve its objectives. • Demonstrates appropriate use and interpretation of the International auditing standards. • Assists the CAE in maintaining a quality assurance and improvement program. • Assists in evaluating the appropriateness of the organisation's frameworks for governance, risk and control. • Assists in creating audit engagement plans based on the risk and its impact on the organisation. • Assists in ensuring that internal audit activities are aligned with and enhances the organisation's risk management strategy and risk profile. • Supports a culture of fraud risk awareness at all levels of the organisation. • Applies the concepts of controls during audit activities. • Maintains an understanding of the processes used to support fraud investigations. • Discuss audit findings and their impact professionally and confidently with appropriate levels of the organisation. • Maintain independence and objectivity in all situations. • Assesses and accounts for the potential for fraud risk and identifies common types of fraud associated with the internal audit engagement. • Maintain an understanding of the processes used to support fraud investigations. • Apply problem-solving techniques for routine situations. • Uses critical thinking to identify and propose tactics for business process improvement. • Apply data collection, data mining, data analysis and statistical techniques. • Ensure that information in decision-making is relevant, accurate and sufficient. • Select and use appropriate research, business intelligence and problem solving techniques to analyse and solve complex situations.
Qualifications and Experience: A degree (NQF 07) in Bcom/Bcompt/ BTech, Certification in CIA, CCSA, CA(SA),CFSA,CISA, ACCA, CIMA and/or equivalent qualification. A post-graduate qualification in internal auditing/ audit/ finance. Candidate must be in possession of Certification in CIA. Masters degree (Internal Audit) shall be an added advantage. Three (3) years post articles experience of which at least 2 years should be at a supervisory level/similar role. Extensive knowledge of financial prescripts in the public sector, experience in corporate strategy, operational planning and management, strong focus on service delivery, customer needs and quality, a good understanding of government policies and initiatives, Computer literacy and a valid driver's license are pre-requisites.
