HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER (REPORTING TO DIRECTOR HR) Basic Salary Range: R379 380 – R513 312 per annum, plus benefits Requirements: Relevant three-year qualification in HR Management • At least five years’ HR experience with at least two at management level • Knowledge and experience in the management of payroll that is not managed by another department or outsourced • Experience in working on VIP Payroll and HR Information System or equivalent system • Superior knowledge of legislation, regulations, codes and best practice related to human resources, payroll management and occupational health and safety • Intermediate level MS Office skills • A valid Code EB driver’s licence. Key Responsibilities include: General management and development of staff responsible for the HR functions related to Remuneration & Benefits • Induction & Orientation • Recruitment & Selection • Job Evaluation • Employment Equity • Learning & Development • Performance Management • Employee Assistance • Termination Administration • Labour Relations • Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in terms of organisational and compliance requirements • Ensure the development and implementation of compliant HR-related policies and procedures • Take responsibility for the operational management of the HR department including people management, programmes and financial management as well as the development and monitoring of an annual departmental budget, the organisational salary budget and a learning & development budget. Competencies Required: Excellent leadership and people management skills • Ability to manage and mitigate all HR related risks • Forward thinking and planning skills that will ensure the effective, efficient and timely delivery of HR-related work • Ability to keep abreast of HR-related legislation, regulations, codes and best practice to enable the effective monitoring of compliance • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Ability to give guidance to line management in terms of people management challenges and proposing interventions where appropriate. SUPPORT SERVICES DEPARTMENT PROPERTY SERVICES MANAGER Basic Salary Range: R379 380 – R513 312 per annum, plus benefits Requirements: Relevant three-year qualification related to property or facility management and an Advanced Project Management qualification • At least five years’ experience in managing a portfolio of properties and multiple building-related projects of which three years should have been at management level • An additional management qualification related to the management of heritage buildings would be beneficial • Intermediate level MS Office skills • A valid Code EB driver’s licence. Key Responsibilities include: To manage buildings, services and activities related to premises occupied by Iziko Museums of South Africa by performing the duties in compliance with relevant legislation, Regulations, Codes, policies, procedures and best practice to ensure a safe and secure environment and well-maintained facilities that are fit for purpose and a well-functioning customer service that meets the needs of both external and internal customers • Compile and submit quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports, including, but not limited to, compliance reports for the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Iziko Council, Iziko Executive Management Committee; other compliance reports and reports required by internal and external clients. Competencies Required: Excellent leadership and management skills • Ability to plan and implement projects • Forward thinking and planning skills • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Knowledge of the procurement process. BASIC SALARY AND BENEFITS The salaries quoted above do not include benefits. Iziko benefits comprise generous contributions towards a designated retirement fund (compulsory), a designated medical aid (voluntary) and a housing subsidy (voluntary). Other employment conditions such as working hours and leave entitlement are also generous.
