INTERNATIONAL TRADE ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION OF SOUTH AFRICA (ITAC) MANAGER: ECONOMIC ANALYSIS AND TRADE MONITORING All-inclusive MMS remuneration package: R882 042 (Ref: ITAC 01/2022) Requirements: The applicant must be in possession of a Master’s Degree in Economics, preferably specialising in International Trade, with at least three years practical experience. Strong quantitative analysis economic modelling essential. Ability to formulate clear policy recommendations based on solid analytical work. Knowledge of the DTIC’s Master plans, the New Growth Path (NGP), South Africa’s Industrial Policy and Trade Policy. A self-starter with conceptual and strategic focus. Project and programme management. Policy development and analysis Key Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the incumbent are to: Monitor and evaluate trade flows, identifying opportunities and risks in priority sectors. Manage and conduct economic research and impact assessments of ITAC’s instruments. Compile research reports. Provide technical and policy advice to the dtic in respect of ITAC’s instruments based on research. Advise on the alignment of ITAC’s policies, Regulations Guidelines and Practices to Government’s policies. ITAC is an equal opportunity employer.
