GAUTENG GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (GGDA) CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER FOR GAUTENG GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (GGDA) (PERMANENT EMPLOYENT CONTRACT WITH THREE MONTHS’ PROBATION, GRADE C3, SALARY R293 385.54 TOTAL COST OF EMPLOYMENT)
The successful incumbent will be reporting to the Senior manager: Marketing and Communications and he/she will be expected to execute the following tasks: Job purpose • To the purpose of this position is to raise awareness of The GGDA’s programmes and promote its service offerings while engaging the broader community as well as collaboration with other stakeholders in the investor attraction and strategic infrastructure development ecosystem to achieve consistency, through usage of various communication channels ,media and digital platforms, including internal communication to improve the staff morale of the employees, coordination of messages, and effective external communications and public image. Responsibilities • Assist in the development of corporate communication publications, electronic newsletter, contribution to content for advertorials for organization and its programmes • Promote the brand through utilization of Public Relations initiatives • Increase understanding and service offerings of the innovation programmes to the stakeholders • Coordinate the compilation of the organization’s success stories in electronic newsletter, online media and media • Assist in coordination and implementation of media engagements • Writing of media releases and securing publishing • Identifying and effectively utilising media opportunities to create and secure regular publicity to raise organisational media profile. • Preparing formal invitations to Political Principals, draft speeches / speaking notes as well as briefing notes for flagship events; • Develop appropriate communications messaging to promote all events and campaigns; • Quarterly update of the media database • Compilation of the monthly Communication Report • Research and writing of thought leadership articles in consultation with sectors specialists As minimum applicants, should have the following requirements: • Diploma in Communications Management or Public Relations Management • At least 5 years’ internal communication experience • Knowledge of government planning cycle and methodology. • Critical elements of successful communication • Knowledge of government communications space.
