FOOD AND BEVERAGES MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY SECTOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING AUTHORITY (FOODBEV SETA) Chief Executive Officer Ref: CEO/06/2020 (Five (5) year fixed term contract appointment) FoodBev SETA is looking to appoint a suitably qualified candidate to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This position will be based at the FoodBev SETA’s Head Office in Rivonia, Johannesburg. FoodBev SETA offers a competitive remuneration which is aligned with the salary band to that of a Director-General in the Public Service. The successful candidate will be required to enter into a performance-based employment contract and will be required to disclose her/his financial interests in accordance with the SETA’s prescribed disclosure form. Reporting to the Accounting Authority (Board of Directors), the CEO shall take the overall accountability for the corporate strategy, utilisation of the SETA’s resources in execution of its mandate and maintaining sound relationships with all stakeholders within the Food and Beverages Manufacturing Sector.
INHERENT JOB REQUIREMENTS: • A relevant Postgraduate qualification • A Master’s degree would be an added advantage • A minimum of 8 - 10 years of senior level experience of which 5 years must be gained at an Executive level • Experience within the Public Sector or SETA environment is desirable • Extensive experience in strategic planning and execution • Extensive experience in operating at board level • Extensive experience in organisation transformation – culture/financial/service • Extensive experience in high-level communications – including, but not limited to internal written and verbal communication, and external media • Extensive experience in stakeholder management and networking • Advanced knowledge, understanding and experience of applicable legislation, regulations, policies and strategies. COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES: The role requires a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of executive management, and work hours may be long and irregular. The successful candidate must demonstrate the following abilities: Strategic Capability and Leadership, Planning and organising, Problem solving and analysis, Managing conflict, Service Delivery Innovation, Programme and Project Management, Financial Management, Change Management, Stakeholder Management, Negotiation, Ethical and Business Acumen and Communication (written and verbal).
