No: FSCA 177 Purpose of the Job: To render appropriate supervision of the managers of collective investment schemes and monitors these companies' compliance with the provisions of the Collective Investments Schemes Control Act. 2002 (CISCA)and related legislation within the framework of the objectives of the department. The person appointed inthis position will report to the Manager Requirements: A BCom or BTech degree withAccounting as a major with at least 3 to5 years' relevant experience of financial services industry. The candidate musthave a good knowledge arid exposureto the financial sector, and a goodunderstanding of CISCA. Key Performance Areas: • Monitor compliance with legislation to ensure sound and efficient collective investment schemes and the protection of investors; • Analyse financial statements and compliance reports of the collective investment schemes managers and the collective investment schemes; • Monitor and report on the continued compliance by all registered collective investment schemes managers, identify problems and possible solutions; • Conduct on-site inspections in terms of the risk xbased supervision approach and report on the outcomes of such visits; • Liaise with the collective investment schemes industry stakeholders; • Maintain a comprehensive database of information of the collective investment schemes and portfolios; • Compile reports for all relevant stakeholders; and • Perform administrative or other activities relating to the supervision of the collective investment schemes industry. The person appointed to these positions will report to the Manager. Requirements: An LLB or BCom or BTech degree with Accounting as major with at least 3 to 5 years relevant experience of financial services industry or compliance management. The candidate must have a good knowledge and exposure to the financial sector, a good understanding of the FAIS Act of 2002. Good knowledge and/or experience of the FAIS regulatory framework and understanding of the insurance or banking industry is essential.
