FINANCIAL AND FISCAL COMMISSION (FFC) The Financial and Fiscal Commission exists to provide proactive, expert and independent advice to promote the Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations (IGFR) System in South Africa, through empirical policy analysis and to ensure the realisation of our Constitutional values. The vision is to provide influential advice to promote an equitable, efficient and sustainable Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations system. HEAD: RESEARCH Ref: 003/2020 Remuneration - R1 251 183.00 - R1 495 956.00 pa (All-inclusive package) The Financial and Fiscal Commission (FFC) is seeking to appoint a dynamic, goal driven, and people orientated individual with strong leadership skills, public sector experience, knowledge of government policies, interested in research, and the ability to undertake multiple priorities for the position of Head: Research on a permanent basis. The details of this position are as follows:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The key outputs of the Head: Research are as follows: • Provide input for long-term policy and strategic planning requirements of the Research Division; • Advance IGFR knowledge-generation, data and analytical modelling and dissemination according to a prescribed set of key performance indicators; • Conduct quality assurance to ensure that the specified research content is delivered timeously; • Develop and implement relevant research policy guidelines and directives; • Promoting dialogue on policy research through workshops and seminars; • Cultivate a professional relationship in the Secretariat and with Commissioners, Parliament, government, academia and related organisations within the intergovernmental fiscal relations environment; • Achieve efficient and effective research management and administration by focusing on the output and financial planning, human capital management and risk management of the Research Division; and • Assist the FFC in communication and disseminating Commission work and research findings.
