AMATOLA WATER Amatola water is a state-owned, water services enterprise established in terms of the Water Services Act. As a public utility, its prime function is to provide water services to municipalities, industry and other communities. Amatola water service area includes Buffalo City, the Amathole District and portions adjoining districts in the central Eastern Cape.
Preferable Experience: • 5 year's experience in the water environment including operations, water plant design/upgrades or process control related to purification works. Business Systems Specialist Information Technology Corporate Services Division Salary negotiable Based at Head Office Minimum Qualifications: • Grade 12 • 3-year Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Business Information Systems and Systems Development or similar qualification. Minimum Experience: • 5 years' experience in business system analysis, database and system design and interpreting business needs • 3 years management / supervisory experience • 5 years' programming experience specialising in C#, VB.NET, ASP.Net, etc. • 3 years' experience in developing systems in on ERP environment • 3 years' experience in SQL Reporting Services and other reporting tools • 3 years' Project Management experience KEY OUTPUTS Reporting to the Senior Manager: ICT, the appointee will: • Analyse business needs by identifying opportunities to enhance organisational efficiency through ICT applications by ensuring that it is aligned to strategy • Develop and maintain a five-year systems and application plan incorporating all major Amatola Water ICT applications • Perform project management on application implementations and development, including the monitoring of critical paths, reallocation of resources to achieve project objectives • Conduct a needs analysis, where appropriate, to verify requirements for new and existing systems • Run on appropriate JAD sessions, proto-type and other methods of analysis to confirm user needs • Monitor user support on the organisation's ERP software and all other major software • Set, agree and monitor performance of staff, check that it is aligned with planned targets • Allocate work according to expertise and developmental needs • Develop, review and keep up to date the relevant policies and procedures • Ensure that policies and procedures are implemented correctly • Oversee and management of new and existing user profiles with regard to access of related systems. • Control standards and procedures of ERP and related systems Other Requirements: • Computer literacy • Valid unendorsed driver's license • Good communication skills • Good motivational skills • Problem solving skills • Critical thinking skills Executive Manager: Operations 5 year performance Based contract appointment Based at Head Office (East London) Remuneration is predetermined and benchmarked according to a South African salary survey and resultant salary ranges. Minimum Qualifications: • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. • Registration as o Professional Engineer / Technologist or eligible for registration with the Engineering Council the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
