AGRÉMENT SOUTH AFRICA Agrément South Africa (ASA) seeks to fill the following vacancies based in Pretoria: Chief Executive Officer (5-year fixed term contract) Remuneration: R 1 592 923.20 per annum (All-inclusive Cost to Company) Reference number: ASA00052/2021 Purpose: To provide direction to ASA through a sound business strategy, business planning, approved policies and procedures aimed at achieving the mandate and objectives. The CEO will primarily be responsible for strategy formulation and ensuring the organization achieves its mandate.
Corporate Governance Ensure adherence to good corporate governance through prudent financial management, enhancing viability and sustainability, effective administration, budgeting, and financial controls by: • Monitoring and evaluating the risk management plan. • Ensuring compliance to legislation, regulations, and policy directives. • Ensuring compilation of budgets in accordance with budget policy and regulations. • Ensuring effective financial management and commercial sustainability of the organization. • Ensuring that proper risk management systems and processes are executed, and effective internal controls are in place. • Ensuring continuous improvement in the quality, value and service provided by the organization. • Ensuring that strategic goals and objectives of the organization are evaluated and revised, when necessary, with due consideration of environmental changes. Certification Procedure Provide leadership with regards to the overall certification process by: • Ensuring that ASA is ranked as a world class technical assessment agency. • Encouraging the use of innovative and non-standard construction products through the certification scheme. • Directing that ASA’s quality management values are based on strict quality management principles. • Ensuring the commitment and participation of all staff towards the provision of an effective certification service. Technical Assessment Function Ensure effective operation of the technical assessment function by: • Overseeing the core operation of the organization and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. • Directing the creation and maintenance of procedures for the implementation of plans approved by the Board. • Providing the necessary leadership and mentoring to staff as well as continuous evaluation. • Promoting a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encouraging good performance, and productivity. • Ensuring effective people management in the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations • Ensuring that staff and board have sufficient and up-to-date information. • Evaluating the organizations and the staff performance on a regular basis. Financial Management Governance Direct and ensure overall delivery of financial management services by: • Fostering an organizational culture that promotes sustainable ethical practices, encourages individual integrity, and fulfils social responsibility. • Championing new tools and programmes to strengthen the organizational culture. • Providing strategic leadership and direction to the business units. • Signing off on the annual Financial Plan, on large capital expenditures and investments. • Reviewing monthly financials. • Monitoring the implementation of the company budget within the spending approval authority levels. • Ensuring compliance to the PFMA and all National Treasury Regulations. Information Technology and Knowledge Management Governance Direct the provision of ICT and knowledge management services at ASA by: • Overseeing the development and implementation of an IT strategy in accordance with the organization’s general business strategy. • Provisioning of IT strategy direction aligned to the organization’s strategic goals. • Providing strategic IT Management leadership to the organization through development of policies, procedures and practices. • Setting IT policies and procedures aligned to the organizational goals. • Developing effective and professional service delivery regarding staff management and cost-effective support systems with emphasis on alignment of performance and efficiency. Marketing, Brand Management and Communications Direct the application and provision of brand management and communications by: • Providing a high-level marketing strategy for ASA. • Ensuring correct application of brand and corporate identity. • Directing the development and implementation of the branding and communication strategy, both from a business and technical perspective to ensure the correct positioning of ASA and its services in the market. • Directing the management and promotion of the ASA brand among all stakeholders, internal and external. • Ensuring and promoting the understanding of brand qualities internally. • Overseeing and directing the management of communications both externally and internally. • Directing the implementation of an effective business plan and budget for marketing and communications to support the achievement of ASA’s strategic objectives. • Directing the implementation and maintenance of communication policies, procedures, templates, and processes, in accordance with best practice. • Directing the implementation of an effective short, medium and long-term operating strategy for marketing and communications. Staffing Direct the development and implementation of human resources processes for ASA by: • Directing the development of a sustainable organizational structure to support the operational requirements of the business. • Participating in the recruitment of senior and mid-level leadership in collaboration with the human resources department. • Managing the performance of direct reports, ensuring agreement of annual goals, measuring performance against agreed goals and dealing with areas of non-performance. • Overseeing succession plan development and implementation to support the growth of people within the organization. • Leading, coaching and mentoring direct reports to foster personal growth and teamwork. Stakeholder Relationship Management Oversee Stakeholder Relationship Management by: • Participating as a member of the Board and engaging with shareholders and Chairperson. • Providing regular informal updates to the Board on organizational developments • Driving organizational and divisional performance. • Building and managing relationships with key external stakeholders, inclusive of strategic partners and technology partners. • Taking the role as co-negotiator / negotiator / initiator in the development of strategic partnerships. • Leading the collaborative efforts with senior leadership across functions to understand and resolve operational problems on the ground • Act as the primary point of contact for senior interaction with government, relevant authorities and industry organizations. • Guiding and leading the ASA retention strategy. • Overseeing an effective change management process in the organization. • Networking on various platforms with industry thought leaders to share and discuss best practices.
Qualifications and Experience: • A relevant Postgraduate qualification in the Built environment. • A Masters Degree in the Built environment or an MBA will be advantageous. • 10 years’ experience in the built environment, with at least 5 years spent at Executive Management. • Registration with relevant Professional Body will be an added advantage.
